Putin announced his conditions for peace negotiations with Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the conditions under which he is ready to begin negotiations with Ukraine. These requirements are aimed at stopping the hostilities in the country. The statement was made at a time of heightened international diplomatic tension.
According to the Russian leader, Ukraine must withdraw its troops from four key regions: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. Putin emphasized that these are the minimum conditions for a ceasefire. In addition to the territorial demands, he insists that Ukraine officially renounce its ambitions for NATO membership.
These demands were announced just before the start of a major peace conference in Switzerland, to which Russia was not invited. Moscow claims that without its participation, any peace talks are meaningless. At the same time, Ukraine and its Western allies often describe such conditions as an ultimatum that is difficult to implement in the current situation.
The conflict remains in a complex phase, with both sides maintaining different positions on the future of the region. While Russia sets its conditions, Ukraine continues to insist on the full withdrawal of Russian forces from its territory. The international community is closely watching whether a real dialogue to achieve a lasting peace is possible.
