Failed GDBOP operation to capture Plamen Galev
In the middle of July, officers from the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) conducted a specialized operation aimed at capturing Plamen Galev, known as one of the "Galev brothers." However, the operation did not achieve the expected result and concluded unsuccessfully.
According to initial data, the reason for the operation's failure was a leak of confidential information. Someone from the inner circle of the investigators likely warned the wanted man, which allowed him to avoid an encounter with law enforcement authorities.
Plamen Galev is a figure with a long history in Bulgaria's criminal chronicles. Together with Angel Hristov, he was part of the Dupnitsa group, which for many years was the subject of attention by law enforcement agencies due to various criminal activities.
Currently, investigative authorities are analyzing the reasons for the information leak. The case raises serious questions regarding the security of secret operations and the possibility of corruption within the Ministry of Interior system.
It is expected that in the coming days, the leadership of the Ministry of Interior will provide more clarity on the case and take measures to prevent such failures in the future. The public remains waiting for information on whether the search for Galev will continue with new methods.
