The Bulgarian National Television (BNT 1) is preparing the premiere of a new documentary film that examines the historical relationship between Bulgaria and the British statesman William Gladstone. William Gladstone is a well-known figure in Bulgarian history, as he was one of the strongest defenders of the Bulgarian cause following the April Uprising in 1876. His speeches in the British Parliament helped draw the attention of the world public to the plight of the Bulgarians at that time.
The film is the work of a team of professionals, including authors Boyko Vassilev and Albena Kolchakova. The production is directed by Lachezar Avramov, and the cinematography is entrusted to Ivan Mushkarov. The team worked for a long time to collect archival materials and present the historical events in a way accessible to the general public.
Viewers will have the opportunity to watch the documentary on September 23. The broadcast on BNT 1 is scheduled for 9:00 PM. The film is suitable for everyone interested in history who wants to learn more about the role of international figures in the Bulgarian liberation movement.
