Bulgarian firefighters celebrate their professional holiday
On September 14, employees of the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection across the country celebrate their professional holiday. The date was chosen to commemorate the establishment of the first professional firefighting response team in Bulgaria in 1905.
In the city of Burgas, a solemn ceremony was held to mark the occasion, attended by local government representatives and directorate staff. The event was organized at the fire station, where the most deserving employees were honored for their professionalism and courage in the performance of their duties.
The work of firefighters is extremely important to society, as they are the first to respond to disasters, accidents, and fires. In addition to extinguishing fires, the directorate's teams actively participate in rescue operations during floods, earthquakes, and road accidents, often risking their own lives to save others.
The holiday is an opportunity for society to express its gratitude to the people who watch over the safety of citizens day and night. During the celebrations across the country, equipment demonstrations are also held, through which firefighters show citizens how to react correctly in dangerous situations.
Firefighter's Day reminds us all of the responsibility and dedication required for this profession. We wish all employees of the "Fire Safety and Civil Protection" directorate health and success in their noble mission.
