Minister of Defense: Russian aircraft did not violate Bulgarian airspace

Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov made an important clarification regarding reports of a Russian aircraft flying near the Bulgarian border. According to official data, the aircraft did not enter Bulgaria's sovereign airspace.

In his statement, the minister explained that the aircraft passed at a distance of 60 to 70 kilometers north of the Bezmer air base. He categorically denied claims that the aircraft had flown over strategic sites such as the Graf Ignatievo air base.

Dimitar Stoyanov also commented on the objectives of such flights, describing them as "unnecessary noise." According to him, modern technology allows Russia to conduct reconnaissance activities without the need for its aircraft to approach Bulgarian borders dangerously close.

The situation remains under observation by the Bulgarian military forces. The Ministry of Defense assures citizens that the Bulgarian sky is under constant control and there is no cause for concern regarding national security.
