New trains in Bulgaria are subject to systematic vandalism
In recent months, BDZ has reported a serious increase in acts of vandalism on the new trains serving passengers in the country. Although the rolling stock is modern and comfortable, many of the carriages are quickly losing their good appearance due to improper treatment by travelers.
The most common problems include scratched seats, walls, and windows, as well as litter being left behind at the end of the journey. Passengers frequently leave empty bottles and food wrappers, and liquids are often spilled on the floors, making them difficult and expensive to clean.
In addition to hygiene issues, there is also improper use of the restrooms. Frequent damage to the toilets hinders the normal operation of the trains and creates discomfort for other passengers who rely on modern amenities during their long journeys.
The railway operator is calling on citizens to protect public property so that the service can remain pleasant for everyone. Maintaining the new trains requires not only financial resources but also responsible behavior from every single passenger who uses rail transport in Bulgaria.
