Bulgaria with alarming road safety statistics
The Institute for Road Safety (IRS) has identified our country as a "black spot" on the map of Europe in terms of traffic safety. According to experts, the number of road accidents remains critically high, placing Bulgaria among the countries with the most dangerous roads on the continent.
The main causes of serious crashes include inappropriate speed, improper maneuvers, and failure to comply with traffic rules. Specialists point out that the infrastructure in many places is outdated and does not meet modern standards, which further increases the risk for all road users.
The Institute emphasizes that a comprehensive approach is needed to address the problem. This includes not only stricter enforcement by law enforcement authorities but also improved driver training, as well as urgent repairs to the most dangerous sections of the road network.
In conclusion, road safety remains one of the most serious social problems in Bulgaria. Experts are calling for greater responsibility from drivers, as following the rules is the easiest and most effective way to reduce the number of fatalities and injuries in accidents.
