Bulgaria marks 139 years since the Unification
On September 6, Bulgaria celebrates one of the most significant holidays in its history – the Day of the Unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia. On this date in 1885, Bulgarians demonstrated determination and will, joining their efforts to build a unified state.
President Rumen Radev issued an official message on the occasion of the holiday. He emphasized that the Unification is an example of how Bulgarian statesmen of the past managed to set aside their political differences in the name of the national interest and freedom.
The head of state noted that the historical act of 1885 is proof of the power of national unity. According to him, when Bulgarians are united, they have the ability to determine their own destiny and overcome difficulties on the path to prosperity.
Solemn celebrations are taking place across the country, including military rituals and the laying of wreaths and flowers at the monuments of heroes. Citizens are gathering to honor the memory of those who fought for the unification of Bulgarian lands.
The Day of the Unification remains an important lesson for modern society. It serves as a reminder that dialogue and shared goals are the key to the stability and success of a nation.
