Bulgaria modernizes its air defense with seven new 3D radars
The Council of Ministers of Bulgaria has taken an important step toward the modernization of the armed forces by proposing for ratification a contract for the acquisition of seven new 3D radars. This decision is part of the country's long-term plan to upgrade military equipment and enhance national security.
The new systems will replace outdated equipment and provide much more precise surveillance of the airspace over the country. The technology allows for faster detection and tracking of aerial objects, which is crucial for the protection of Bulgarian borders and territorial integrity.
In addition to the needs of the army, the deployment of these radars will also improve coordination within NATO's collective defense systems. The modern equipment will allow the Bulgarian military to exchange higher-quality information with partner countries in real time, which increases overall stability in the region.
It is expected that following the ratification of the contract by the National Assembly, the process of delivery and installation of the radars will begin as soon as possible. The project is a key element of the government's efforts to ensure modern capabilities for the surveillance and control of Bulgaria's airspace.
