“Yes, Bulgaria” proposes the creation of a new cybersecurity agency
The political formation “Yes, Bulgaria” has issued an official proposal for the creation of a specialized cybersecurity agency. The goal of the initiative is to consolidate all resources for protecting state systems in one place, in order to increase efficiency in countering digital threats.
Currently, the protection of information systems in the country is fragmented across various institutions, which hinders a rapid response to hacker attacks. According to the proponents of the proposal, the creation of a single body will allow for better coordination and a higher level of security for Bulgarian citizens and the state administration.
Cybersecurity is becoming an increasingly important topic globally, especially with the growing number of attacks against critical infrastructure. The new agency would be tasked with monitoring security breaches, analyzing risks, and implementing modern technological solutions for data protection.
The proposal is set to be discussed by the political forces in parliament. The debate is expected to focus on exactly how the new structure will be funded and how it will collaborate with existing units in the security sector.
