Bulgaria requests additional military support from NATO
The Ministry of Defense of Bulgaria has officially requested additional assistance from NATO to strengthen national security. The decision comes in response to the changing geopolitical situation and the need for better protection of Bulgarian airspace.
The main focus of the request is aimed at securing modern combat aviation. The goal is to ensure the country's security amid increased tension in the Black Sea region and to maintain the readiness of the Bulgarian Air Force.
In addition to aircraft, Bulgaria has also requested specialized anti-drone systems. These technologies are crucial for modern defense, as unmanned aerial vehicles are becoming increasingly used in modern conflicts around the world.
The Minister of Defense emphasized that these measures are necessary for the modernization of the army and for fulfilling allied commitments to the Alliance. The request is expected to be discussed at the next high-level NATO meetings.
Authorities assure that strengthening defense capabilities is a step toward guaranteeing peace and stability in the country. Bulgaria continues to work in close cooperation with its partners to ensure reliable protection of its borders.
