Orange code for dangerous heat in almost all of Bulgaria
The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued an orange warning code for dangerously hot weather in most of the country. Temperatures are expected to reach their peak over the coming days, which necessitates increased caution on the part of citizens.
The orange code means that the weather is potentially dangerous. Forecasts show that in many regions of Bulgaria, the mercury in thermometers will rise to extreme values. Experts advise people to avoid going outside during the hours of strongest sunshine, typically between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Despite the general trend of heat, there are several regions for which the warning is not in effect. At the moment, the exceptions are the cities of Dobrich, Varna, Burgas, Smolyan, and Sofia. In these areas, temperatures are expected to be more tolerable compared to the rest of the country's territory.
Doctors remind the population to drink plenty of water and wear light clothing made of natural fabrics. Elderly people, children, and those suffering from chronic illnesses should be especially careful. It is important to monitor the latest information from meteorological services, as the situation can change quickly.
