Large-scale audit of all water and sanitation companies in Bulgaria begins
The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has announced the start of a full audit of all water and sanitation companies in the country. The decision was announced by Regional Minister Ivan Shishkov following an emergency meeting with regional governors.
The main goal of the inspection is to establish the actual state of the water supply and sewerage systems in the various regions. Experts will analyze the financial management of the companies, as well as the quality of the services they provide to citizens.
Authorities hope that this audit will help identify the problems that lead to frequent accidents and water losses across the network. The audit is an important step toward improving infrastructure and increasing operational efficiency in the sector.
It is expected that upon completion of the inspections, specific reports with recommendations for changes will be prepared. The results will show whether restructuring of management in some of the companies is necessary in order to ensure better service for the population across the entire country.
