The Bulgarian Parliament has established 24 standing committees
The National Assembly of Bulgaria has officially completed the process of structuring its work by establishing 24 standing parliamentary committees. These bodies are essential to the legislative process, as bills are discussed and prepared within them before being voted on in the plenary hall.
The distribution of leadership positions in the committees is a key moment in the political configuration of the parliament. According to official information, 14 out of the 24 committees will be chaired by representatives of the "Progressives" parliamentary group. This distribution reflects the current balance of power between the political formations in the legislative body.
The standing committees cover a wide range of public spheres, including the economy, healthcare, education, foreign policy, and national security. Working within them allows deputies to focus on specific issues and invite experts to provide professional opinions on matters of importance to the country.
Now that the composition of the committees is clear, the parliament can begin its active work on adopting new laws and decisions. In the coming weeks, deputies are expected to focus on priority topics that are on the agenda for Bulgarian society and the country's European partners.
