Bulgaria and the Czech Republic strengthen their cooperation in nuclear energy
President Rumen Radev held a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, during which the two discussed key issues regarding energy security. A major focus of the talks was the development of nuclear energy and the opportunities for joint projects between the two countries.
During the meeting, the leaders reached an agreement to establish a special working group that will focus on the implementation of small modular reactors. This technology is viewed as an innovative solution for ensuring stable and environmentally friendly electricity in the future.
Beyond the topic of reactors, Radev and Babiš examined other areas of bilateral cooperation. They emphasized the importance of joint projects that can contribute to the economic development of both countries within the framework of the European Union.
This initiative is part of Bulgaria's efforts to modernize its energy sector and seek new partnerships in Europe. The expert group is expected to begin its work as soon as possible in order to explore opportunities for specific investments and technological exchange.
