Kostadin Kostadinov comments on the deployment of American aircraft at Bezmer Air Base
The leader of the 'Vazrazhdane' party, Kostadin Kostadinov, expressed his position regarding the use of the Bulgarian 'Bezmer' air base by American military aircraft. According to him, our country had the opportunity to refuse access to the facility if it had deemed it necessary.
In his statement, Kostadinov emphasized that, in his view, no international agreement obligated Bulgaria to accept foreign military equipment on its territory. He believes that the government could have made a different decision on this matter.
'Bezmer' air base is one of the facilities used for joint training and exercises within the framework of Bulgaria's partnership with NATO. These facilities are often the subject of discussion in the Bulgarian public sphere regarding national sovereignty and the country's defense policy.
