Serious rise in road accidents in Bulgaria: four dead in 24 hours
Bulgaria is reporting an alarming number of serious road accidents over the last 24 hours. According to official data from law enforcement authorities, 28 accidents were recorded within a single day, in which four people lost their lives and 30 sustained injuries of varying severity.
Statistics for the current month show that the road situation in the country remains critical. Since the beginning of November, a total of 9 people have died, and the number of those injured in road accidents has reached 101. These figures are causing serious concern among the public and institutions regarding traffic safety.
If we look at the data for the entire year of 2024, the situation is even more alarming. The total number of fatalities since the beginning of the year is already 378, and the number of injured citizens exceeds 6,500. These data underscore the need for stricter control and greater responsibility on the part of all road users.
Traffic police are urging drivers to be extremely cautious, to observe speed limits, and not to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or intoxicating substances. Experts remind that following traffic rules is the surest way to reduce the number of tragic accidents on Bulgarian roads.
