The "OKO" Festival presented Bulgarian traditions in the heart of Kyiv
The "OKO" festival took place in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, bringing together representatives of the Bulgarian community and culture enthusiasts. The event aimed to showcase the rich heritage of the Bessarabian Bulgarians and to highlight the strong historical ties between Bulgaria and Ukraine.
Visitors to the festival had the opportunity to experience authentic Bulgarian customs and crafts. The program included demonstrations of traditional techniques for creating objects that have been characteristic of Bulgarian communities in Bessarabia for centuries.
The culinary portion of the event attracted great interest, with guests sampling traditional Bulgarian dishes. The aroma of homemade food created a warm atmosphere that reminded many of those present of home and their Bulgarian roots.
The culmination of the celebration was the performance of Bulgarian folk dances (horo). The music and dancing united people of different ages, showing that traditions remain alive even far beyond the borders of the homeland.
The "OKO" festival became a symbol of hospitality and cultural unity. The organizers hope that such initiatives will continue to maintain the Bulgarian spirit and introduce more people to the beauty of our traditions.
