Ivaylo Mirchev: Bulgaria must take a more active role in NATO and the EU
MP Ivaylo Mirchev expressed serious concerns regarding Bulgaria's current position in international organizations. According to him, our country is formally present at important events, such as military parades, but often remains on the sidelines of key decisions made within NATO and the European Union.
Mirchev emphasized that the state's passive behavior could lead to negative consequences in the long term. He pointed out that Bulgaria risks losing opportunities for important investments in its defense industry, which would weaken our national security.
A major focus of his statement is the protection of the Black Sea. According to him, the lack of an active position in allied structures leads to weaker security in the region, which is critically important in the current geopolitical situation.
In conclusion, the politician calls for a more active and decisive foreign policy. According to him, only through real participation in decision-making processes can Bulgaria protect its national interests and be an equal partner in international alliances.
