The European Commission has transferred nearly 900 million euros to Bulgaria
The European Commission has approved and paid out to Bulgaria the second installment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan. Our country received nearly 900 million euros, which are intended for the implementation of important reforms and investment projects in various sectors of the economy.
These funds will be directed towards improving infrastructure, energy efficiency, and the digitalization of public services. The funding is key to modernizing the Bulgarian economy and achieving a higher standard of living through European support.
It is important to note that all projects financed under the national plans of European Union countries have strict deadlines. According to the rules of the European Commission, every activity under these projects must be fully completed by August 31, 2026.
In order to receive the remaining funds, the Bulgarian authorities must submit their payment requests within the specified deadlines and prove that the planned reforms have been successfully implemented. The process is strictly monitored by European institutions to ensure the proper use of resources.
Receiving these funds is an important step for Bulgaria, which will allow for the continuation of the changes that have been initiated. The successful absorption of the money depends on good coordination between state institutions and the effective execution of the set goals over the next two years.
