Clinical pathway prices in Bulgaria to increase by 10% from September
The Bulgarian Medical Association and the National Health Insurance Fund have reached an important agreement for healthcare in the country. The two institutions have agreed to a 10% increase in the prices of clinical pathways, which will come into effect on September 1 of this year.
The decision was announced by the caretaker Minister of Health, Asen Medzhidiev. According to him, this change is a necessary step to support hospitals and to improve the quality of medical services provided to patients in Bulgaria.
The price increase will allow hospitals to cover their expenses more easily, including those for medicines, supplies, and medical staff remuneration. This is part of the state's efforts to stabilize the financial condition of the healthcare system amid economic uncertainty.
The new prices are expected to be reflected in an annex to the National Framework Agreement. Representatives of the medical association expressed satisfaction with the dialogue achieved, which will ensure greater predictability for medical institutions in the coming months.
This change directly affects Bulgarian citizens, as the goal is to guarantee continuous access to quality hospital treatment. All administrative procedures are expected to be finalized in the coming weeks so that the increase can begin to be applied on time.
