Ivaylo Mirchev: There is no possibility of a joint presidential candidate for GERB and Democratic Bulgaria
Discussions regarding the upcoming presidential elections have intensified in the Bulgarian political space. Ivaylo Mirchev, a representative of Democratic Bulgaria, has categorically ruled out the possibility of putting forward a joint presidential candidate with the GERB party.
According to Mirchev, the political differences between the two formations are too great for such cooperation to be achieved. He emphasized that his coalition's goal is to offer an alternative that differs significantly from the current management of the presidential institution.
In his statements, Mirchev highlighted the need for a new type of leadership. He stated that he is looking for a person who would represent the complete opposite of current Vice President Iliana Iotova, thereby providing a new choice for Bulgarian citizens.
The topic of the presidential elections remains central to the political parties in the country. It is expected that debates will become increasingly intense over the coming months as political forces prepare for the official nomination of their candidates.
