Road Anarchy in Bulgaria: Experts Call for Urgent Changes

Road safety in Bulgaria remains one of the most discussed topics in the country. Recently, experts expressed serious concerns regarding the state of traffic and control on Bulgarian roads. According to them, the situation is critical and requires immediate action from the authorities to reduce accidents.

Krasimir Georgiev from the Association for the Qualification of Motorists in Bulgaria stated that "road anarchy" prevails in the country. He believes that this chaos was created by the state and its institutions. According to the expert, rules are not enforced strictly enough, and traffic organization is often confusing for drivers and other participants.

According to specialists, the main problem is the lack of effective control and coordination between various state agencies. It often happens that institutions shift the responsibility for the poor condition of roads or the lack of adequate markings to one another. This creates conditions for dangerous situations and uncertainty during travel.

Road anarchy affects not only drivers but also pedestrians and cyclists. The number of road accidents in Bulgaria continues to be among the highest in the European Union. Citizens often express dissatisfaction with the quality of the road surface and the lack of sufficient lighting in many high-risk areas of the country.

To improve the situation, experts are calling for a comprehensive reform of the road safety system. They propose not only stricter penalties for violators but also much better maintenance of the infrastructure. Only through the joint efforts of the state and society can greater safety be achieved on Bulgaria's roads.
