Yellow code for dangerous heat in a large part of Bulgaria
Meteorologists from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology have issued a first-degree warning – a yellow code – for dangerous heat in a number of regions across the country. Temperatures today are expected to reach high levels that could be hazardous to human health.
The warning is in effect for the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Sofia Province, and Pazardzhik. In these areas, thermometers will show values that require increased caution from citizens, especially during the hours around noon and in the afternoon.
Experts advise people to avoid direct sun exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. It is important to drink enough water, wear light clothing made of natural fabrics, and seek coolness in shaded or air-conditioned places.
Special attention should be paid to children, the elderly, and those suffering from chronic illnesses. If symptoms such as dizziness, headache, or nausea occur, it is necessary to seek medical help immediately.
The heatwave is expected to continue throughout the day. Citizens should monitor the latest weather forecasts, as the meteorological situation may change depending on the development of atmospheric processes.
