Ministry of Interior investigates link between Leipzig explosion and Bulgaria
The Bulgarian Ministry of Interior is awaiting official information from its international partners regarding a recent incident at Leipzig Airport. Investigative authorities are checking whether the explosion, which occurred at a logistics center in Germany, has any connection to shipments sent from Bulgaria.
The issue of supply chain security has become particularly relevant following a series of incidents at warehouses of military factories in the country, including those of the company "EMKO." Authorities are paying serious attention to any leads that could link these events to international criminal activities or attempts at sabotage.
In connection with these concerns, former Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev issued an appeal to the owners of military industry facilities. He is insisting on a significant increase in security and protection measures to prevent future incidents and to safeguard strategic sites in the country.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing, with Bulgarian services working in close cooperation with their European counterparts. It is expected that more clarity on the case will be provided in the coming days, once all data gathered from international partner services has been analyzed.
