The Netherlands and Bulgaria Cooperate on the Use of Geothermal Energy in Agriculture
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency has organized a special mission to Bulgaria. The main goal of this visit is to explore the possibilities of using geothermal energy in agriculture. The project is primarily aimed at modernizing the country's greenhouses through new technologies.
Bulgaria possesses a rich resource of mineral waters and geothermal sources that are not yet fully utilized. At the same time, fruit and vegetable producers face high heating costs during the winter months. Using natural heat from the earth can significantly reduce these costs and make production more environmentally friendly.
The Netherlands is a world leader in greenhouse production technologies and sustainable agriculture. Through this mission, Dutch experts will share their experience and innovations with their Bulgarian colleagues. The cooperation is expected to help implement modern systems that extract energy from the earth's depths in an efficient and safe manner.
This initiative is an important step toward the more sustainable development of the Bulgarian agricultural sector. With the help of foreign knowledge and technology, local farmers will be able to become more competitive on the European market. The modernization of the sector will ensure more stable production prices and less dependence on traditional fuels.
The mission of the Dutch agency highlights the growing interest in green energy in the region. It is expected that concrete projects will start in the near future, turning Bulgaria into an example of the successful use of renewable sources in agriculture.
