The Bulgarian Veterinary Union and the Ministry of Agriculture strengthen their cooperation
The Bulgarian Veterinary Union and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food have announced that they will work in closer cooperation. The goal of this partnership is to improve the dialogue between the institutions and ensure a more effective response to the complex epizootic situation in the country.
Dr. Parvanov, a representative of the veterinary organization, emphasized the importance of joint efforts to protect animal health. Given the spread of various animal diseases, experts believe that coordination between the state and veterinarians is of critical importance for the security of the sector.
Within the framework of these efforts, the upcoming Fifth Annual Conference of the Balkan One Health Network was also announced. The prestigious international event will be held on November 19, 2026, in Sofia and will bring together specialists from the region who are involved in the connection between human, animal, and environmental health.
It is expected that the conference will provide a platform for the exchange of experience and best practices. Participants will discuss strategies for addressing the challenges facing veterinary medicine and public health in the Balkans.
This cooperation is an important step toward improving veterinary control in Bulgaria. Through scientific forums and constant dialogue, the institutions hope to reduce the risks of epidemics and protect Bulgarian livestock farming.
