Over 130 fires extinguished in the country over the last 24 hours
Over the past 24 hours, fire crews in Bulgaria have had an extremely busy schedule. Employees of the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection responded to a total of 177 reports of various incidents across the country.
Of the total number of reports, firefighters managed to extinguish 136 fires. The majority of the incidents occurred in open areas, such as dry grass and bushes, which often happens during hot and dry weather.
Unfortunately, one person was injured in one of the incidents. At the moment, there is no official information regarding the severity of their injuries, but authorities are urging citizens to be extremely careful when handling fire outdoors.
The fire department reminds the public that negligence and lighting fires near agricultural lands or forest areas are the main causes of such fires. All citizens must follow safety rules to avoid dangerous situations and material damage.
