Over 181,000 people in Northern Bulgaria now have access to high-speed internet
The telecommunications company A1 has completed a large-scale project to build a modern optical network in Northwestern and North Central Bulgaria. The initiative is part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) and aims to reduce the digital divide between major cities and smaller settlements in the country.
Thanks to this investment, over 181,000 residents in these regions now have access to high-speed internet. The project covers dozens of remote areas where the connection to the global network was previously slow or unstable. The new infrastructure allows for the use of modern digital services with high speed and reliability.
Access to fast internet is crucial for the development of the local economy, education, and quality of life. With this improved connectivity, pupils and students in the region will have better opportunities for remote learning, and local businesses will be able to offer their services online more easily.
The project is an important step towards the digitalization of Bulgaria and supports the development of the regions. It is expected that the improved infrastructure will attract more investment and facilitate the daily lives of thousands of families, who will now be able to take advantage of all the benefits of modern technology.
