Mother of a sick girl from North Macedonia seeks help from the Bulgarian Parliament
The mother of 23-year-old Iva Mihailova from the town of Kochani, North Macedonia, made an emotional appeal for help before a parliamentary committee in Sofia. She told the Bulgarian deputies about the difficulties faced by her daughter, who is in need of urgent medical treatment.
According to the information provided, the young woman cannot leave her country to receive the necessary specialized care in Bulgaria. The mother shared that the family has exhausted all possibilities for solving the problem locally and is hoping for assistance from Bulgarian institutions.
The case drew the attention of the members of parliament, who discussed possible steps for providing support. The issue of access to quality healthcare for citizens with Bulgarian self-awareness outside the country's borders remains an important topic on the committee's agenda.
It is expected that the institutions will examine the legal options through which Iva Mihailova could be transported and treated in a Bulgarian hospital. Further coordination between the responsible departments is forthcoming in order to find a solution to the humanitarian case as soon as possible.
