Mass evacuation of schools in Linz due to a threat
The Ansfelden area of Linz-Land witnessed a large-scale mobilization of emergency forces on Monday morning after receiving a new bomb threat, leading to the evacuation of several schools in a large educational complex in the area. The police announced that the evacuation was due to a 'threatening situation', without disclosing further details.
The affected educational building includes several educational institutions, and students were returned home as much as possible. In cases where this was not possible, temporary supervision was organized in safe areas.
The authorities have closed all roads surrounding the educational complex, but the inspections have not yet resulted in finding any suspicious objects or explosives.
This incident comes after a similar shock that recently occurred in Burgenland, where HAK Neusiedl school and three other institutions were forced to close their doors following a false alarm about a potential armed attack.
