Ottawa Airport Train Service Restored After Technical Delay
Commuters and travelers in Ottawa faced travel delays on Saturday as rail service to the city’s airport was temporarily interrupted. The O-Train Line 4, which connects the Bayview station to the Ottawa International Airport, was forced to stop operations for more than two hours.
The disruption was caused by a technical problem involving a track switch. According to OC Transpo, the city's public transit authority, the issue began earlier in the day and prevented trains from safely moving between stations on the airport line.
Maintenance crews were dispatched to the scene to address the mechanical failure. During the suspension, transit officials worked to resolve the issue as quickly as possible to minimize the impact on passengers heading to or from the airport.
By 3:25 p.m., OC Transpo confirmed that the switch issue had been repaired and regular service on Line 4 had resumed. The transit authority apologized for the inconvenience caused to travelers during the afternoon.
While the service is now back to normal, passengers are encouraged to check the OC Transpo website or social media channels for updates before traveling. Reliable transit remains a priority for the city as it continues to manage its rail infrastructure.
