Government of Canada Partners with Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation for Job Training
The Government of Canada has officially announced that the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation (PBCN) is now an agreement holder under the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) Program. This partnership is designed to support the economic development and professional growth of Indigenous community members.
The ISET Program provides long-term funding to Indigenous organizations across the country. By becoming an agreement holder, the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation will have the resources to design and deliver its own employment and training services. These services are tailored to meet the specific needs of their community members.
This initiative focuses on helping individuals gain the skills necessary to find and keep good jobs. Through this program, participants can access training, career counseling, and support for further education. The goal is to remove barriers to employment and help people succeed in the modern Canadian workforce.
By empowering Indigenous communities to manage their own training programs, the federal government aims to foster greater economic independence. This agreement represents a step forward in the ongoing commitment to reconciliation and the support of Indigenous-led initiatives across Canada.
As the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation begins this new chapter, the program is expected to create new opportunities for local workers. This investment in human capital will likely have a positive impact on the community’s overall economic health in the years to come.
