Montreal Mural Honors New Cycling Star Michael Woods
A popular mural in Montreal, which previously celebrated Quebec cyclist Hugo Houle, has been updated with a new image. The original artwork was created last year to honor Houle’s historic stage victory at the 2022 Tour de France.
The city has now replaced the image with a portrait of fellow Canadian cyclist Michael Woods. This change reflects the ongoing success of Canadian athletes in the world of professional cycling.
Michael Woods is well-known for his impressive performances in international races, including his own recent stage wins at the Tour de France. By featuring him on the mural, the city continues to show its support for local sports heroes who compete on the global stage.
Public art pieces like this mural serve as a way for Montreal residents to connect with their community and celebrate the achievements of Canadian athletes. The change highlights the growing popularity of cycling as a sport across the country.
