Government proposes financing Universal Nursery with unemployment insurance
The government presented changes to the Universal Nursery project, while the Comptroller General's Office detected irregularities in circulation permits and experts warn of environmental risks in Maule.
On Monday, the Executive submitted amendments to the Universal Nursery bill, proposing that its financing come from unemployment insurance funds. This measure has raised concern in opposition sectors and preschool education unions, who question the impact this could have on the protection of unemployed workers and the stability of these funds.
On the other hand, a report from the Comptroller General of the Republic revealed that 146,000 circulation permits were issued to vehicles that had unpaid traffic fines. This finding demonstrates a lack of control in the vehicle document renewal process, allowing thousands of drivers to evade their financial sanctions despite current legal restrictions.
Regarding environmental matters, forest fires in the Maule region are facilitating the spread of invasive pines. According to experts, this situation represents a silent threat to ruil forests, a native and endangered species that inhabits the coastal area. The fire acts by opening the way for these foreign species, which alter the natural structure and composition of local forests.
In the cultural sphere, the Red Salas de Cine (Cinema Hall Network) began a national tour with the cycle "Cinema, disobedience, and possible futures," which will bring forums and Chilean films to 16 exhibition spaces throughout the country. Likewise, the Mapuche musician Waikil, a rap exponent, will release his album "Kiñewküleiñ" on June 16, a work dedicated to rescuing the sound memory and wisdom of his territory.
