A young man in Bogotá prevents a robbery with an impressive "flying kick"
In the San Cristóbal district, south of Bogotá, a young man made headlines after confronting two criminals who tried to rob him. The incident, which was captured by security cameras in the area, occurred last Tuesday, May 19, in the San Vicente neighborhood, at approximately 10:47 p.m.
According to the video footage, the young man was walking calmly down the street when he was intercepted by two men. One of the assailants pulled out a firearm to intimidate the victim and demand his belongings. However, the young man's reaction was not what the thieves expected in that moment of tension.
In a quick and risky move, the young man launched a "flying kick" at one of the criminals. The impact was so strong that the assailant lost his balance, allowing the victim a few seconds to react and move away from danger. Faced with the unexpected defense, the criminals decided to flee the scene without achieving their goal.
This type of situation has sparked an intense debate on social media regarding citizen security in the Colombian capital. While some users admire the young man's bravery and agility, local authorities remind the public that confronting armed individuals is extremely dangerous and can have fatal consequences for victims.
So far, the Bogotá Metropolitan Police are analyzing the security camera footage to identify and capture those responsible. This event highlights the constant concern of San Cristóbal residents regarding frequent thefts and the need to increase police surveillance in residential neighborhoods during the night.
