Venezuelan doctors denounce the disappearance of 71 tons of humanitarian aid

The Medical Federation of Venezuela (FMV) has expressed its deep concern over the whereabouts of 71 tons of medicines and medical supplies donated by the United States. According to the organization, there is no trace of these supplies in the country's public hospitals, despite the aid being sent specifically to alleviate the health crisis.

Given this situation, the FMV formally requested the United States Chargé d'Affaires in Caracas to initiate an official investigation. The objective of this request is to determine what happened to the materials and why they have not reached the health centers where patients need them most.

The donation, which arrived in the country last February, included essential medicines and basic medical equipment. At the time, the delivery was considered an important step in helping the Venezuelan health system, which has faced serious problems of shortages and lack of maintenance for several years.

However, representatives of the medical sector claim that the reality in hospitals has not changed. Doctors report that basic supplies are still missing and that they have not received official information regarding the distribution of the tons of international aid that supposedly entered the territory.

This lack of transparency has generated great uncertainty among health professionals. The Medical Federation insists that it is essential to track the path of the medicines to ensure that humanitarian aid fulfills its original purpose of saving lives and improving medical care.

For now, the medical community awaits a clear response from the competent authorities. Meanwhile, the crisis in hospitals continues, and patients continue to face critical difficulties in receiving adequate treatment due to the lack of medicines throughout the country.
