Colombian candidates conclude their campaigns ahead of the June 21 elections
The upcoming June 21 elections are approaching, and candidates are concluding their tours across the country. This weekend, Abelardo De la Espriella and Iván Cepeda held massive events in various Colombian cities to attract the final voters and consolidate their popular support.
Abelardo De la Espriella chose the city of Buga, in the department of Valle del Cauca, for his campaign closure. This location is considered a strategic point for achieving victory at the polls. During the event, the candidate spoke with his supporters about his main proposals and emphasized the importance of active participation in the democratic process.
On the other hand, Iván Cepeda decided to divide his time between the municipality of Soledad and the capital, Bogotá. In Soledad, he met with local communities to listen to their needs and present his government plans. Later, he traveled to Bogotá for a major final event, seeking to secure the vote in one of the cities with the highest number of electors in the country.
The choice of these locations is no coincidence. Buga, Soledad, and Bogotá are all urban centers with significant political and social influence. The candidates know that gaining support in these areas can be fundamental to the final result. For this reason, they dedicated their final efforts to connecting directly with the citizens of these regions.
With these events, the electoral campaign phase officially comes to an end. Now, the final decision rests with the citizens, who must head to the polling stations this coming Sunday. It is expected that the election day will proceed normally and see high participation across the national territory.
