Watch out for the weather: Strong thunderstorms with hail to hit the Czech Republic
Meteorologists have issued a warning regarding strong thunderstorms that will hit a large part of the Czech Republic during Sunday. A low-level danger alert is in effect for the regions of Bohemia, Vysočina, and parts of the South Moravian Region.
According to current forecasts, the storms will begin to appear on Sunday morning. The alert is in effect from 11:00 a.m. and is expected to last until 4:00 p.m. Residents in these regions should be very cautious throughout the day.
Thunderstorms may be accompanied by strong wind gusts and hail. Meteorologists warn that sudden winds can break tree branches and hail can cause minor property damage. Due to the rapid development of the weather, it is recommended to monitor current radar images.
People should avoid staying in open landscapes or near tall trees, where the risk is highest. If you are planning a car trip, be careful on the roads, as heavy rain can reduce visibility and cause aquaplaning.
The situation will gradually calm down during the afternoon. Nevertheless, it is advisable to follow official information from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, which will keep you informed about any changes in weather development in your region.
