BMW is developing technologies for the future of automotive transport in Sokolov
BMW is continuing the development of its modern testing center near Sokolov. This facility, known as the BMW FMDC (Future Mobility Development Center), focuses on testing new technologies that are set to fundamentally change the way we will travel in the future.
The main research topic at the Sokolov site is the new generation of vehicles designated as the "Neue Klasse." This platform represents a key step for the automaker toward electrification and digitalization. Engineers here are testing systems designed to ensure greater safety for drivers and other road users.
The testing polygon in the Karlovy Vary Region offers ideal conditions for testing assistance systems and autonomous driving. Thanks to its vast area and modern equipment, experts can simulate various traffic situations that would be too dangerous or difficult to predict in normal traffic.
BMW's investment in the Czech Republic confirms the importance of the region for the European automotive industry. The development center near Sokolov is therefore not just a place for testing cars, but also an important hub for innovations that will influence transport safety across all of Europe in the coming years.
