Traffic complications in Brno: Pisárky and Hlinky tunnels face long closure
Drivers in Brno must prepare for a challenging period. Two important tunnels, Pisárky and Hlinky, will be closed to all traffic starting in the coming days. The reason is planned repairs aimed at modernizing the outdated technology inside these structures.
The closure will last for a total of 40 days and will end on November 20. In addition to the tunnels themselves, some exit ramps in the surrounding area will also be closed to traffic. Experts warn that these measures will significantly affect the flow of traffic in the wider city center and recommend that drivers plan their journeys well in advance.
The technology in the tunnels is already outdated and requires necessary replacement to ensure safe operation for motorists. Road administrators are trying to plan the work so that it is completed as soon as possible, yet drivers must still expect traffic jams and delays.
Residents and visitors to Brno should monitor current traffic signs and information on the city's website. The goal of the repairs is to increase the safety and reliability of the tunnels, which are a key part of Brno's transport infrastructure.
