Volkswagen recalls 200,000 vehicles in the Czech Republic, with the Škoda brand most affected

The Volkswagen automotive group has announced a large-scale recall affecting approximately 200,000 vehicles currently in operation in the Czech Republic. The measure concerns cars manufactured between 2013 and 2024. Owners of the affected vehicles will need to visit authorized service centers for a preventive inspection or repair.

Of the total 200,000 automobiles, the vast majority are Škoda vehicles, with the recall affecting approximately 150,000 of them. The remainder consists of 45,000 Volkswagen vehicles, nearly 2,000 Seat cars, and just under 900 Audi vehicles.

The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the detailed technical reasons that led to this step. However, recall campaigns are a common tool in the automotive industry to ensure operational safety and to rectify potential manufacturing defects that might only become apparent after a vehicle has been in use for a longer period.

Owners of the vehicles affected by this action should be contacted by official service networks in the near future. Drivers can also verify whether their specific vehicle is on the recall list by checking with their authorized dealer or through the manufacturer's applications by entering the vehicle identification number (VIN).
