Czech technology helps Ukrainian patients after amputations
The Czech healthcare system is actively involved in helping people affected by the war in Ukraine. A newly developed Czech medical device is now being used by Ukrainian soldiers and civilians who have lost limbs and are undergoing demanding rehabilitation.
A key element of this assistance is so-called mirror therapy. This method helps patients better manage the pain and unpleasant sensations that often occur after an amputation. Thanks to special equipment, patients can retrain proper movement patterns and gain better control over their bodies.
Rehabilitation after limb loss is a long and mentally challenging process. The Czech technology allows patients to perform more effective exercises, which encourages the brain to relearn how to control the affected part of the body. This innovation significantly improves the quality of life for people who have suffered serious injuries.
Experts believe that sharing Czech experience and technology is one of the most effective ways to help victims of war. The project demonstrates that Czech science and medicine have a firm place on the international stage and can deliver concrete results where they are needed most.
