Security threats to the Czech Republic: BIS warns of cyberattacks from Russia and China
The Security Information Service (BIS) has published a report on the main security risks the Czech Republic faced over the past year. According to the secret service, our country has become a target of sophisticated attacks that threaten the stability of both the state and private entities.
Cyber espionage remains the primary problem. According to the findings of the BIS, Czech institutions and companies were the targets of several attacks carried out by actors linked to China. These attacks focused primarily on obtaining sensitive data and strategic information, which poses a long-term risk to the Czech economy and security.
In addition to Chinese activities, the BIS also warns of attacks associated with Russia. According to the report, Russian intelligence services are attempting to carry out sabotage and influence public opinion in Europe, including the Czech Republic. These activities aim to destabilize society and weaken citizens' trust in democratic institutions.
The Czech Republic is therefore strengthening its defenses in cyberspace. Authorities are working with security experts to detect attacks in time and prevent data leaks. Experts emphasize that prevention and employee training in the field of digital security are currently key to protecting both the state and the private sector.
