Popular singing show SuperStar returns to screens
After a long five-year break, the popular talent competition Česko Slovenská SuperStar is returning to television screens. Fans of the show can look forward to new episodes, which the network will begin airing as early as the beginning of September.
The return of the competition is also accompanied by a marketing campaign that has appeared in the Prague metro. However, the advertisement for the new season of the show has sparked mixed reactions among passengers. The reason is the visual materials created using artificial intelligence, which many passengers find unnatural and, at times, even frightening.
Technology experts point out that this is another example of how the use of generative artificial intelligence in advertising can be problematic. Even though creating images with AI is fast and cheap, the result often lacks human naturalness and can evoke negative emotions in viewers rather than interest in the product.
The television station has not yet officially responded to public criticism regarding the visual style of the campaign. For viewers, however, the main topic remains the content of the competition itself and the question of which new talents will get the chance to succeed on the music scene.
September will thus be marked by the return of a familiar format for fans of television entertainment. It will be interesting to see whether the show maintains its high viewership even after such a long hiatus and whether it manages to find new singing stars who will captivate both Czech and Slovak audiences.
