Police conclude investigation into July accident involving MEP Filip Turek
The Police of the Czech Republic have concluded their investigation into a traffic accident that occurred in the center of Prague in July of this year. The parties involved in the accident were MEP Filip Turek, who ran as a candidate for the Motorists for Themselves (Motoristé sobě) movement, and the driver of a hospital transport vehicle.
According to the official statement from the police, no criminal offense occurred in connection with this incident. Investigators closed the case, stating that the actions of the participants did not constitute a criminal offense, and the matter has therefore been dismissed.
Filip Turek responded to the police findings with a statement in which he noted that he is prepared to continue his work for the Czech Republic. Following the release of the investigation results, the MEP did not provide any further comments regarding the specific circumstances of the accident.
At the time it occurred, the accident in the city center drew media attention, primarily due to the involvement of a well-known political figure. Now, however, the case is definitively closed from a legal perspective, and no further steps will be taken by the police.
