Czech Republic introduces new strategy for clinical trials: The goal is better access to modern treatment
For the first time in its history, the Czech Republic has adopted an official strategy for the field of clinical trials. This document aims to streamline the processes that enable the testing of new drugs and treatment procedures directly in Czech hospitals. The strategy is planned through 2035 and is intended to ensure that the domestic healthcare system becomes a more attractive location for international research.
The main reason for the creation of this strategy is an effort to increase the number of clinical trials conducted in the Czech Republic. Thanks to them, patients gain earlier access to the most modern drugs that are not yet commonly available on the market. Furthermore, greater involvement in international projects provides Czech doctors and scientists with valuable experience and new knowledge in the field of medicine.
Experts believe that clearly defined rules will help remove the administrative barriers that have hindered the development of clinical research until now. The strategy focuses not only on accelerating approval processes but also on supporting cooperation between state institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and the academic sphere.
