Beware of new malware on phones: Attackers steal banking data even without an internet connection
Security experts are warning of a new and very dangerous threat to Android smartphone users. A new type of malicious software, or malware, has been discovered that can gain access to users' bank accounts. Unfortunately, the Czech Republic is on the list of countries directly threatened by this attack.
The main danger of this malware lies in its ability to operate even in situations where the phone is not connected to the internet. Attackers can thus obtain sensitive banking login credentials without the user actively using the network at that moment. This method is very unobtrusive and difficult for ordinary users to detect.
Cybersecurity experts recommend that all Android phone owners exercise increased caution. The basis of protection is downloading applications exclusively from the official Google Play store and avoiding suspicious links in emails or SMS messages. It is also important to regularly update the phone's operating system, which contains security patches against new threats.
If you suspect that something unusual is happening with your device, such as the phone draining its battery quickly or applications closing on their own, you should check the application permission settings. In case of any doubts about the security of your bank account, the best step is to contact your bank directly and ask for advice or to block access.
