Czech team CZERT EMT 1: Top-tier assistance in crisis situations
University Hospital Brno has introduced its specialized team called the Czech Emergency Response Team, abbreviated as CZERT EMT 1. This team is prepared to provide rapid and expert medical assistance in places where a sudden disaster or humanitarian crisis has occurred.
The unit consists of experts from many different medical fields. It includes experienced surgeons and traumatologists who specialize in treating serious injuries. The team is further complemented by physicians from the fields of internal medicine, gynecology, and obstetrics, which allows for the provision of comprehensive care in challenging conditions.
In addition to basic medical care, the team is also equipped for pediatrics—the treatment of children—and intensive care medicine. Thanks to this broad focus, CZERT EMT 1 is capable of functioning as a full-fledged mobile hospital that can save lives directly in the field.
The existence of this team is an important contribution by the Czech Republic to international aid.
