Prague Pride begins, historic statue in Brno heads for examination
The popular Prague Pride festival, which celebrates diversity and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, officially begins in Prague today. The event will last for a whole week and offer visitors a rich program full of concerts, exhibitions, discussions, and social gatherings. Every year, the festival attracts thousands of people from the Czech Republic and abroad.
While Prague prepares for the celebrations, an unconventional scientific project is taking place in Brno. Experts have decided to subject a rare, seven-hundred-year-old statue to a detailed examination. To learn more about its internal condition and production technique, they used modern technology, specifically computed tomography at one of the Brno hospitals.
In addition to cultural and scientific events, the Czech Centres are also undergoing change. This institution, which represents Czech culture abroad, is undergoing extensive reorganization. The goal of these changes is to streamline the promotion of Czech art and strengthen cultural ties with other countries.
These events show how diverse current affairs in the Czech Republic are. From major social events in the capital to fascinating research on historical monuments in Moravia, these days offer an interesting perspective on Czech culture and science.
